Remembrances of Author John D. Voelker
Author of Anatomy of a Murder and Other Novels
and Former Michigan Supreme Court Justice
In December, Attorney Frederick M. Baker Jr. delighted attendees at the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Law with his presentation on the life and works of former Michigan Supreme Court Justice John D. Voelker author of Anatomy of a Murder and other novels. (Pen name - Robert Traver) Mr. Baker became friends with Voelker late in the author’s life and many of his personal remembrances were touching as well as humorous. Co-sponsored by the Book Club of Detroit (BCD) and the Michigan Supreme Court Historical Society, the event drew attorneys, judges, BCD members, history lovers and even a fly fisherman who fished in Voelker’s pond.
