BCD at Bookfest 2025
The Book Club of Detroit (BCD) once again had a table at the Detroit Festival of Books, thanks to past BCD president Ryan Place. Ryan, BCD member George Hagenauer, and the rest of the Bookfest team did their usual fine job organizing this enormous event, the largest Bookfest yet. Many interested visitors stopped by the BCD table; as usual, we gained a few members. It’s always fun to meet other book lovers and learn about their interests.

George Hagenauer, BCD member, Bookfest organizer, and famed “Comic Book Wizard of Ypsilanti.” George gave the keynote presentation at BCD’s 2024 annual meeting, focusing on his collection of illustration art.

Evan Blackhawk, Mossback Books, and Janet Blackhawk, McCormick Books. Both are BCD members; Janet serves on the Club’s board of directors.
